Meet our counselor!

	Aloha mai kākou! I am Ms. Kellie and I am the counselor for our Kindergarten, 1st grade, and 2nd grade Stallions! I have had the pleasure of working with students in the Hawai'i DOE system for over 10 years on both O'ahu and Maui. One of my greatest joys is helping our students grow, build confidence, and learn the skills to manage the difficult times they will face in life. After earning my bachelor's degree from the University of Hawai'i at Mānoa, I finished my schooling with a master's degree in Counseling Psychology from Chaminade University. I am so excited to get to know our students and their 'ohana to make this a positive and successful school year! I can't wait to meet our new kiddos and welcome back our returning students!! I have been proudly serving with the Hawaiʻi Department of Education since 2014 and have a Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education and a Master’s Degree in School Counseling. I believe in supporting the whole child by helping students feel safe, valued, and supported as they grow academically, socially, and emotionally. I am passionate about building positive relationships with students, families, and our school community. I look forward to being a source of support and encouragement for our students and ʻohana throughout the school year. What Do Elementary School Counselors Do?

Facilitate short-term individual or small group counseling based on needs to support the student emotionally, socially, and academically at school.
Work collaboratively with teachers and school staff to support all students
Promote Social Emotional Learning Skills for all students
Consult with parents to support and be a resource
Provide information and/or referrals for community resources for families
Support families and assist with Attendance Policy concerns
